The 8th International Conference CPOTE 2024 will be organized in Gliwice (Poland) in the Education and Congress Centre of the Silesian University of Technology.

The city
The 8th International Coference CPOTE 2024 will be held in Gliwice, the city where Professor Szargut was working for more than 70 years. Gliwice is a city lying on the westernmost edge of the Upper Silesian Metropolis, one of Poland’s largest metropolitan areas. The city bears historic heritage of Bohemia, Austria, Prussia and Poland and its inhabitants represent a creative blend of hard-working native Silesians and Polish intelligentsia resettled from Lwów, a former Polish multinational city, which is currently known as Ukrainian Lviv. Currently, Gliwice hosts an extensive economic zone of 10 km2 for large business development, and in the area of Silesian University of Technology there is a Technopark providing incentives for small start-up companies.
The region of Upper Silesia, centered around Katowice, provides one of the World’s richest heritage of industrial traditions which can be found along the tourist Route of Industrial Monuments. One of these attractions will be visited within the conference’s social programme.

Conference Venue
The conference sessions will be held in the modern building of CEK (Centrum Edukacyjno-Kongresowe) located in the University area.
The Centre is a unit for innovation, conducting interdisciplinary research, providing services and organising training. Mostly important for CPOTE are its modern conference facilities and that it is located right in the middle of the university campus.

By air
The nearest airport is located in Pyrzowice (KTW) – 35 km from the venue. From there you can reach Gliwice with a direct bus connection.

By train
Gliwice train station offers many connections to various destinations in Poland. There are also direct international connections to Berlin, Vienna and Budapest.
