Compact tractor 4.0: Development of an operational prototype of an electrified tractor for specialized cultivations

This study presents the development of an operational prototype of an electrified tractor tailored for specialized cultivation projects such as vineyards and orchards. The tractor incorporates a fixed ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structure) and falls within the medium power range within its reference segment. Primary objectives encompass ensuring compliance with safety regulations, attaining system performance on par with similar tractors, ensuring continuous driver protection in rollover scenarios, and facilitating support for current and future agricultural technologies, including Agriculture 4.0. Key project objectives of the research entail investigating required clearances to ensure compliance with driver space regulations, assessing the feasibility of electrified systems for transmission and working components, conducting CAD design of the driver's compartment and propulsion systems with virtual structural verification, evaluating compliance with safety and stability regulations, and integrating Agriculture 4.0 sensor technology. This research systematically addresses all phases of prototype development, placing emphasis on operator safety, system performance, and compatibility with emerging agricultural technologies. The outcomes contribute to the advancement of agricultural machinery electrification, enhancing energy efficiency, addressing safety issues, safety, and sustainability in specialized farming practices.
